  Altar Servers

Purpose:  Altar servers assist the priest and/or deacon during the liturgies, especially the Mass. Some of the duties include carrying the processional cross during the entrance and closing processions, holding the Presider's Book while Father prays certain prayers, and assisting in preparing the altar for the Eucharistic Prayer.
 
Note: Adult altar servers are often needed during the week for funerals and special liturgies.
 

Requirements:  Altar servers, both boys and girls, should be:

    at least in the third grade, and
•  must have made his/her First Communion
 

Meetings / Workshops:  Several workshops are held during the year for the servers.

Training Minimize

ALTAR SERVER TRAINING

If you have made your First Communion and are interested in becoming an altar server, a training session is planned for Thursday, November 12, 2011 at 2 pm at Holy Family Parish-St. Patrick Church.
