Purpose: The Bereavement Committee reaches out to families who have suffered the loss of a loved one through death. Committee members help with the reception, usually held in the parish auditorium, that often follows a funeral Mass or service. Committee members set up the auditorium for a meal, serve the meal and clean up after the meal. The family provides their own food, and the parish provides paper goods, plastic ware, water, tea and coffee. Committee members are not required to cook.
