Duties: Duties will vary by location but may include unlocking doors before services and securing the premises once the service if over, making certain all the necessary participants (ushers lectors extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist) for the service at the time are present and in place, setting up for both Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist which means preparing all the books, vessels, offertory, and incense when appropriate, being ready to assist the celebrants and/or the faithful should there be questions or if the need to do something arises, assuring proper treatment of the Holy Species, namely that of the Sacred Blood and Blessed Sacrament during and after the celebration and keeping the Holy Tabernacle secure.
